Are your warriors having trouble clashing swords? Can't get that player model to move the lever? Is that new tree really in scale with the one you're working on? Fear not, extras are just what you need!
Just like in the movies, Extras in dim3 Inspire are just that... semi-important people placed to help fill out the scene get everything working just right. Working with extras is easy. To add an extra, choose Add Extra from the Extras menu. To change which variant or animation that extra plays, choose the Extras tab from the info window and change the appropriate pop-up menu.
If you are trying to match up to models pose by pose (such as two melee combatants), you can use the Play until next pose command in the Extras menu. This will play the main model and all extras until the selected extra reaches its next pose.
You can move and rotate extras by first selecting the extra from the listing in the info window. The selected extra will now have a yellow circle draw around its origin. Click and drag this circle to move the extra around. Press the command or 3 key and drag to rotate the model.
Important: Extras are not persistent additions. They are meant for quick and easy animation checking, and are not saved with the model. if you close and reopen the model later, all of your extras will be gone.
